Growing Together in the New Year: Celebrating Baby’s Milestones & Mama’s Heart
Let Joy be a Companion this year | To the Faith-filled Christian Mom
Our pastor started the year off (2025) with a series preaching about 25 reasons to have Joy.
So for 2026, I want to bring that mindset into this year too. There are more than 25 reasons to be joyful. Joy doesn’t require everything to be easy or ideal. Biblical joy is deeper than circumstances—it’s the steady confidence that God is with you through it all.
As we enter this new year, allow yourself to:
Celebrate small moments (baby’s milestones, motherhood milestones, family wins)
Notice goodness in ordinary days
Welcome laughter and lightness
Expect good things without knowing exactly what they’ll look like
Joy is not something we manufacture—it’s something we receive in Jesus. The difference between happiness and joy is that happiness is a feeling tied to circumstances, while joy is a fruit of the spirit rooted in faith and God’s presence.
A Blessing for the Mama Watching Her Baby Grow
There’s a quiet joy that comes with watching your baby change and grow. One day they’re all curled up in your arms, and the next they are reaching for your food, standing, and stepping—overall growing and becoming of the next stages whether it be toddlerhood or older. Each milestone arrives gently, almost unexpectedly, reminding you that time is moving forward and God is faithfully at work.
My babygirl recently learned to drink from a straw and I couldn’t be more proud, now we wait for her to learn to crawl soon.
With that as your baby grows, so does your heart and love for them.
These moments are not small they are gifts. Life is unfolding as it should—step by step, season by season. Your child is learning, growing, and discovering the world God created for them. In all that though, you are growing and learning as a mother too.
A Blessing for this Season
May you notice the goodness woven into everyday moments
May you celebrate growth without rushing what comes next
May you trust that God is guiding your child’s steps—both the literal ones and the ones yet to come
May your home be filled with laughter, curiosity, and pace
May your heart remain soft as you witness new beginnings unfold
And may you remember that just as your baby is growing beautifully, so are you mama!
Prayer for Mom in this season
Lord be my guide as a mother. Bless my baby through all the steps, big smiles, and joyful milestones ahead. Fill our days with gratitude and peace in our hearts. Fill our home with love each day. Amen.
